Owen Sound Bound on Highway 21

Beautiful Chilly Views in Bayfield.

Oh if only....dare to dream because this would be one of them.  The Robson is a nice little place for rent in Bayfield.  It's even green already and has a name which holds a special place in my heart.

 Port Elgin

 South Hampton's lighthouse.

Just a quick pit stop to check in on the beach.  Gram lives in Owen Sound but there is too much fun and history that remains in Sauble that it's hard not to say hello to the best beach there is.

On route to My Grandparents old place you cross over the 'one laned' Jewel's Bridge. I've spent a lot of hours under the bridge catching crayfish or just trying to fish or walk across the current on the slippery rocks.  I love this bridge and the feeling of being close to the place you love to be most it gives you as you cross it.

The lot beside my Grandparents place sat vacant for many years  I was surprised to see this recent new addition.

I did make it safe and sound and had a really nice much overdue visit with Gram.  She is battling back from a long winter's cold to put it mildly and the time spent there while it is always too short did us both good.
I was hoping the kids would have been able to make the trip with me and we could extend our family day but their schedules didn't allow it.  So while I may be getting spring fever winter still has a hold on me because it sure was nice to be up there with all that snow!

The car the following morning...I hate scraping windows and avoid it at all costs!  Thankfully I did have a small scraper in my car because a CD case just wouldn't have been enough for the ice on these windows this time.

Highway 21 was closed on my way home due to high winds and whiteouts so I took #6 to Guelph and then the 401.  Still made it through some wonderful towns and took in some beautiful winter sights.

This my friends is the meaning of a TRUE Farmer's Wife!
That would have been one cold ride to town.

To think I was miffed over scraping my windows.

Winter Blues + Fat Tuesday = Spring Fever

On a day of too many Paczki's (too meaning two) I dumped out my wellies to take a walk around the yard for a little inspiration, possible incentive and hopefully some signs of spring.

Last spring I attempted to do some individual beds for my veggies that require a little more maintenance and also some nicer soil. I enjoyed being able to plant my lettuce, carrots, peas and beets earlier than the rest and was able to reap the benefits while planting was just beginning for the rest of my veggies.

My 'Mom Cave' :)

Chipmunk the kids' Bunny survived a very cold and rainy winter.

Here leans my wheelbarrow (aka a gardener's BF ) for now for soon she'll be wheeled into action schlepping copious amounts of dirt to be distributed everywhere!

My motto is you can never have enough good dirt and when you think you may have enough go get another load for it is cheaper to load up on dirt than mulch and the long run benefits are endless.
